Adding a New Device Group
- Select Device Management from the Rayven portal.
- Choose 'Add new group' from the top-right menu.
- Enter a Group Name and Unique Code.
- Click 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
- Once you have a device group, you can Add new device(s).
Configuring your new device group
- Enter a Group Name. Choose something simple that describes the device group or device group function. This name will appear in group widgets in your Live environment.
- Enter a Group Unique Code. You can add free text to this field. This code is relevant for Device-Group-Device functionality.
- Choose whether to add a Description for your group.
- Set your Device Time Zone, or use the default UTC. Configure the correct zone to ensure data is synced accurately in projects across multiple time zones.
- Time zones for each user are updated automatically in their live environment based on the time zone set on their desktop.
- Select a Parent Group if you want your new device group located within a device hierarchy. Select parent group 'none' if this is a top-level group.
- Choose whether to upload a Map Icon for visualizing your device group. If using, we recommend dimensions 30px on 30px.
- Click '+Add device(s)' to create a new device. To see all devices in the group, click the radio button next to each device. Three icons will appear in the bottom-right of the page, allowing you to:
- Delete (trash icon): note you can't undo this action.
- Create Device Actions: run actions on devices, e.g., firmware updates, reboots, or factory resets.
- Move Devices: Click the group icon and choose 'move to an existing group' or 'add a new group'.
