Charts Overview
Charts Overview
Charts represent data graphically using symbols. They can depict various data types, such as tabular numeric data, functions, or qualitative structures, and provide data insights.
There are many different charts available within Rayven. Below are the functions supported by most widgets.
Workspace Configuration
Date Format
- Use the drop-down menu to configure the date format and determine how it will appear on the x-axis and tooltip.
- The default format is DD-MMM-YYYY HH:MM:SS. However, you can choose to display only the date or only the time.
Live Dashboard Configuration
View History
- On the live dashboard, hover the mouse over the top right of the widget, then select the eye icon 'View History' to open the popup.
Date Range
- Selecting the date range will set the time frame shown on the chart in the live dashboard. For example, selecting 'Last 7 days' will ensure your chart shows only data for the previous week. Most widgets support the following options:
- Last 10 minutes,
- Last 30 minutes,
- Last 1 hour,
- Last 12 hours,
- Last 24 hours,
- Last 48 hours,
- Last 7 days,
- Last 28 days,
- Current month,
- Last 90 days,
- Custom.
2. Alternatively, you can use custom dates and time ranges. Click the drop-down arrow next to 'Custom' and enter the 'From' and 'To' values. A calendar selection tool will appear for you to choose the dates required. Below the calendar, the field 'Time' has two selection boxes for you to define start and end times for your custom range.
Interval Options
1. Use Choose to select the interval unit for your chart. Most widgets support the following options:
- Seconds,
- Minutes,
- Hours,
- Days,
- Weeks(Start on Sunday),
- Weeks(Start on Monday),
- Months,
- Years.
2. Value sets the rate for a chosen interval (i.e., a value of 1 will set the interval as 1 hour/week/month).
Hiding Fields
- On the x-axis, field names appear with a colored symbol, reflecting the color used for that field in the chart. Each field can be deselected (or selected) by clicking the field name. This act will hide that field from the chart.
Export
- Exporting will generate a CSV or TXT file with data from the chart in the set range.
Save
- You must save your selections for them to appear on a dashboard after the popup is closed.
